How to Reuse Your Single-use Plastic Dehumidifier

How to Reuse Your Single-use Plastic Dehumidifier.

Remember when we spoke about the "Throw Away Culture" that's born out of the convenience and prevalence of single-use plastics in our previous posts? Well, here's something we did during our annual CNY spring cleaning last 2 weeks ago.

Yes, putting all our single-use plastic dehumidifiers to work...again. Plastic dehumidifiers are a common solution for absorbing moisture in closets, basements, and other tight spaces. However, these products contribute to the growing problem of plastic waste. Instead of throwing away your single-use plastic dehumidifier, consider reusing it.

Before reusing your dehumidifier, make sure to wash (use gloves) and dry it thoroughly. Remove any remaining silica gel or desiccant and wash the container with soap and water.

1. Convert it into a plant pot. Clean and dry your dehumidifier container, then use it as a mini planter for small plants or herbs.

2. Use it as a small items container. Self-explainatory; wash your dehumidifier container to store small items like buttons, safety pins, or beads.

3. Use it as a pencil holder. Clean and dry your dehumidifier container, then use it as a pencil holder on your desk or workspace.

4. Refill the dehumidifier. Clean and dry your dehumidifier container and all its components. Refill with store bought calcium chloride.

Reusing your single-use plastic dehumidifier is a simple way to reduce plastic waste and adopt a conscious living attitude. By acknowledging the wasteful nature of single-use products, you can give new life to otherwise disposable ones.

Remember to always clean and dry your dehumidifier before reusing it, and get creative with your reuse ideas! Of course, if all of the above ideas aren't your thing, you can always wash and recycle the plastic container or simply share your idea of how you would do things differently.
